Who's the artist?

I am a Brazilian Architect who became a painter when living in Rome, Italy.

I draw since I was a child, I was lucky to be born in a family with artists: cousin Marina Caldeiras and aunt Lacunha are well known artists in Vitória, Brazil. But only living in Rome, where my soul was blessed by the beauty of the city and its astonishing art environment, I have decided to live as a full time artist.

I consider myself also a painter with the Grand Tour* style, I mean, traveling and painting are part of my life process which builds up my personality.

*In the 18th century, doing a 'Grand Tour of Italy' was something of a cultural rite of passage for the aristocratic and fashionable in European society, completing their education with a tour, but also for artists such as writers, painters, musicians and poets.
